  Back in the day I had a website up on Geocities. Yahoo killed Geocities a few years ago and I assumed that was the end of my site. But apparently not. It seems the old Geocities sites have been resurrected at www.geocities.ws. (Just found out about this.....)

  I initially set up the site to host some info on the breaking Watchtower-United Nations scandal. I eventually wrote a number of essays on different topics before Yahoo pulled the plug.

  it has come to my attention that a much-beloved poster on this forum has been hurt by the insensitivity shown toward her account of how badly she was treated by the wt.. i realize this is a place where are all welcome, and barring any posting guidelines violations, we are free to air our views without fear of any backlash.. however, please keep in mind that most posters here - yours truly being one of them - view the wt in a negative light.

  with all the evidence out there pertaining to its deceitfulness, how can anyone view it otherwise?.

  i reached out to you, angel eyes, because i sense that you need a friend.

  thought you'd might like to know but i'm officially out.

  it feels great all the hurt, guilt, fear and paranoia questioning, doubts, etc etc are finally gone and it tastes and feels good what a relief.

  no more pain and sorrow, only jubilation along with a sense of being finally at peace with myself.

  it's funny that when you seperate yourself from the cult, you see very few people care about the witnesses.

  as jws we were always told how the governments were going to turn on religion and then try to obliterate us and how jehovah would step in, in the nick of time, and save all of his people.

  i realize that the latest clarification of the generation teaching has been discussed quite a bit on this thread.. but i think that there are at least two other important points from the annual meeting that have been, for the most part, overlooked:.

  1. the weeds of matthew 13 are not the churches of christendom, but apostates.. 2. showing love to our neighbors involves more than just the preaching work.

  Number 1 is quite interesting. Where does it leave the "churches of Christendom" and their members if they are not included in the weeds? I can't see this doctrine sticking long term. It almost appears to be a fabricated opportunity for the GB to run another fear mongering campaign about the evil apostates. TM

  My take on number 2 is that it's either: a) lip service only - nothing will change; b) an attempt to counter the public perception of JWs (in developed countries, at least) as a group that contributes NOTHING to society; c) an attempt to grow the membership indirectly, by impressing potential converts with acts of "love" (READ: love bombing).
